Our fundamentals classes are designed not only for beginners, but for all athletes. These classes focus on building a strong foundation in the fundamental basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The fundamentals program follows a four-week cycle, rotating through the four main positions: Guard, Side Control, Full Mount and Back Control. within these cycles we focus on Control, Escapes, Transitions and Submissions. Fundamentals classes end with situational sparring, aimed at enforcing the skills developed during the current positional cycle.
The fundamentals program is designed to build confidence and develop the basic skills required by a jiu-jitsu athlete of any level.
The intermediate class builds on a student’s fundamental skills and introduces novel techniques. In this class, teaching is more detail-oriented and in-depth as student are better able to understand and conceptualize new concepts. These concepts are supported by full sparring.
Our advanced class is where we focus on more advanced techniques and concepts. These techniques include higher level submissions and transitions as students will be at a level where these skills can be taught and used in a safe manner. The advanced class also utilizes technique-specific sparring to hone in on specific skill sets necessary for an advanced practitioner.
No Gi jiu-jitsu is the practice of sparring without the Gi. Similar to submission
wrestling, No Gi is quickly growing in popularity around the world.
Our No Gi classes focus on bridging the gap between Gi techniques and control,
and the new skills necessary when the Gi is removed. Once students have a grasp
on the transition between styles, they can begin to focus on no gi specific
concepts and further development in this style of jiu jitsu.
Our focus on both fundamentals and advanced concepts has proven to be a successful formula: our students quickly perform well at a competitive level, and we have developed a high level of skill across all belt levels in the Academy.
The competition class focuses on strategy and rulesets for Jiu-Jitsu competition.
